March Athlete of the Month - Tom Chatamra

Your story. Who are you? What do you do when you are not here (job, school, etc)?

I am Tom Chatamra, almost 14 years old and I am in 8th grade in Highland Middle School, Libertyville.

I was born in England moved to Holland when i was 5 and finally I moved here. I have lived here for almost 7 years now. I am half Thai and half Swedish I travel extensively with my family and I go see my cousins in Sweden.

My story is I was always a small short and skinny kid. I was never the strongest or the most athletic. But I was always a helping kind person no matter what. Now through CrossFit I am the strongest kid in my school and the one of the most athletic well rounded athletes.
I hang out with friends and I do some of the workouts from CrossFit with them in the park when it is warmer outside.

I love to do rock climbing and sometimes my friends come with which makes it more fun.

I play golf in the summer and I snowboard a lot during the winter. CrossFit has given me more endurance and the ability to snowboard faster and longer. Also to play golf a lot better I can hit the ball straighter and farther ever since I started CrossFit.

Past athletic history?

Why CrossFit?? How did you find CrossFit Lake Forest?

I found CrossFit through one of my moms friends who thought I would be good at it. I find CrossFit to be a tough and fun sport and I believe that everyone should try it. She found CrossFit Lake Forest on their website which had great reviews and the time for the teens classes were excellent.

What do you love about CrossFit Lake Forest?

What I love about CrossFit Lake Forest is how helpful everyone is and how the coaches and other CrossFitters really push you to work your hardest.

Favorite workout? Least favorite?

One of my goals is to one day make it to the CrossFit games. Become a CrossFit coach who is as good as the coaches at CrossFit Lake Forest have been to me.
